Shows for me, Shows for you

Done some fun fundraisers for hard-working, well-grounded, right-thinking progressive candidates lately (like so and so), but let’s talk about some shows with no redeeming value, okay?

Oct 22 – Millville, NJ
Oct 23 – Benefit for Garden State Marriage Equality (okay, some social value, damnit)
Oct 28 – John and Molly Get Along
Oct 29 – BIG SHOW! Washington, DC. Political Comedy Party (prep your funny before the Rally To Restore Sanity)
Nov 2 – Election Night double dip! 6:30pm @ Pratt Falls, Pratt Manhattan Gallery. 8pm @ Adult Ed in Brooklyn Town.
Nov 4 – another BIG BIG SHOW! Get Rich Cheating at the New York Comedy Festival
Nov 7 – with legendary Dick Gregory at Caroline’s on Broadway

Slip of the Kosher tongue?

My people are funny, even when they don’t mean to be. Being an anti-gay bigot while ‘choking on a salami’? Hilarious!

“I was in the middle of eating a kosher pastrami sandwich,” Rabbi Levin said. “While I was eating it, they come running and they say, ‘Paladino became gay!’ I said, ‘What?’ And then they showed me the statement. I almost choked on the kosher salami.”

Reviewing with the enemy

(sorry not many posts lately. BUSY! Check faceboook & twitter for latest news & dates [speaking of – NYC, headlining TONIGHT!, 9:30 at Caroline’s on Broadway).

Generally speaking, college newspaper reviews aren’t the best, and ones from self-labeled conservative papers are usually, um, rougher. But, since she liked me (and is capable of writing – I’m looking at you, {redacted} College), gotta admit, this one’s good. Lotta “aw shucks” lines. Like these:

“Jeff Kreisler, the man whose praises are constantly being sung by the country’s most influential publications for his ingenious political comedy routine, recently ignited the heights with deep belly laughs…

“Kreisler’s routine presented a humorous, satirical point of view of today’s world of politics. While he considers himself a liberal, much of his show pokes fun at American polity in general rather than featuring straightforward attacks on conservatives…

“Kreisler is a master at creating lines that are masked by a kind of humor that pokes fun at anything and everyone, including himself. Whatever his tactic, Kreisler can get his political points and opinions across, and still manages to find favor with the audience….

“Jeff Kreisler’s hilarious insights into society’s foibles combined with his intelligence, knack for humor, and genial spirits made for an excellent hour of political humor that could be appreciated by both Democrats and Republicans at Boston College.

“Kreisler serves as the intermediary comedic glue that has the power to unite political fronts across social spheres.”

Awww… shucks.
