A Pretty Good 24 Hours

My tour through the UK has been wonderful – no surprise – but the last 24 hours have been particularly lovely. I hope to share tidbits from everything (Leeds International Jewish Performing Arts Festival; sold-out show at Hen & Chickens in London; train rides amongst green hills partitioned a history ago, spotted with stone and sheep), but here’s a one day taste…

30 June
5:30pm – At my friend Claire’s place, where I stayed during Fringe ’07. (The view on the walk from Waverly Station made me want to bring along everyone I’ve ever known). It all fits back together easily. Just putting the needle back on the record.

8pm – Into The Stand. I will try to explain more completely another time (the staff, the attitude, the crowds), but the simplest reason why I think The Stand might be the best comedy club in the world: It feels like coming home. Also, they don’t allow hen & stag parties.

9:30pm – Confirmed

1 July
12:45am – There is still sunlight in the sky.

1am – Recorded/aired what might be my favorite episode yet of Cheater & The Rude (listen). With Lee & friend Drew in NYC and Claire expressing shock and awe with me Skyping from Enbra.

9am – woke up to this view from my window:

2pm – Ate a cuppa seafood chowder & best mussels in the world at Mussel Inn, outside, while reading a book. Only thing missing was a mime.

5pm – came home to this nice review of my Leeds show.
(i.e. “unique.. be… hour of laughs… stick… gag… jewish… with ease… when… trouble… victims are real… and… was…”)

Now – wrote this, thought of you.
